Thistledew Unit A

The front unit (Unit A) of Thistledew Cottage is a 4BR, 1.5 bath and comfortably sleeps 10.

This year-round, level lot lakefront house is on the second basin of Lake James, a beautiful 1200-acre sports lake.

Thistledew Cottage is a rare single-story rental home designed to accommodate two families at the same time in separate but connected units.

The two units have a connecting door that allows for use as 1 large unit or 2 smaller, separate units. Each unit has its own grill and patio set to enjoy outdoor living. Bed linens and bath towels are included for both units, beach towels are not. The two units share parking, a large yard, sandy beach and a private pier with space to dock your boat. The solid, firm lake bottom is ideal for wading and swimming.

Unit A

The front unit (Unit A) is an addition to the original cottage, including 4 bedrooms (one with 2 twins, one with 2 twins and a trundle bed, one with a queen + day bed and the 4th BR also has a queen) that sleep a total of 10. Windows all across the front provide a beautiful view of the lake from the well-equipped kitchen and fully furnished great room with vaulted ceiling. There’s a large, shaded  deck with a gas grill just off the kitchen. This unit has a full bath and a small half bath as well as a washer/dryer. With central heat and air, it is comfortable year-round. 

Please note: beginning in 2025 we will only rent the whole house which includes the original cottage (4 bunks, full kitchen, 1 bath) and the front addition (4 BR + 1.5 BA, full kitchen and large great room).  The combined Unit A and Unit B will comfortably sleep 14.
